The Department of Communications Engineering is interested in providing the student with basic knowledge skills in engineering sciences, electrical and electronic circuits, preparing specialized competencies in the field of communications and electronics, and forming cadres capable of designing, building, operating and maintaining networks of various communication systems.

Objectives

Providing engineers in the fields of communications and electronics who are able to solve professional problems and to support various engineering sectors. Developing various technical industries by raising the level of engineers and technicians in the field of communications and electronics. Keeping abreast of modern technical developments and developing educational programs. Providing specialized scientific consultations, training engineers and developing engineering education. Developing and encouraging scientific research and communicating with industrial and productive institutions.

Outcomes

   Providing the graduate with a background and broad knowledge in the basics of engineering. Introduce the graduate to the methods, methods, methodologies and skills of engineering thinking. Introducing the graduate to the foundations, concepts and techniques of electrical and electronic circuits and training him on them. Providing the graduate with the foundations, concepts and techniques of analogue and digital communications. Providing the graduate with the foundations, concepts and theories of waves and electromagnetism. Enabling the graduate to understand the principles and basics of designing various communication systems such as: Satellites – optical cables – mobile phones – centimeter wave systems – TETRA radio systems – telephone splitters – Internet networks.

Entry Reuirements

The percentage required in the secondary certificate for those wishing to enter the program is 65%. Proficiency in Arabic and English. An interview exam may be required in some cases.

Study Plan

The Bachelor in Electronic and Communication Engineering prepares students to qualify for Bachelor in Electronic and Communication Engineering. The student studies several subjects which have been carefully chosen in this major to cover its different aspects.

It comprises 10 Semesters of study, in which the student will study a total of 149 units, which include 40 units of general subjects, and 87 major units, 6 of elective units. In addition to a final project in the student's major.
